Suscipe or Surrender Prayer
Take Lord, and receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding, and my will, all that I have and cherish you have given to me; I surrender it all to be guided by your will. Your grace and strength are wealth enough for me. I ask for this and nothing more. St. Ignatius of Loyola
What else besides God?
What do we need besides God? Nothing. If I give, willingly, all that God has given me, back to God can you imagine what will happen in your life? Our surrender – of material goods, worry, the desire to control – all that can be given to Him and then we allow ourselves to be guided by God’s will.
God only wants our good. Surrender though is a daily process. We sometimes forget to pray, “thy will be done” or we give our concerns to God and take them back. We don’t want to wait on His answer, convinced we know better.
Pray this prayer when you are worried or have a problem or make it a part of your morning prayer time. Pray it this week and watch what happens.
