Camp Shauna

Let’s talk about the time Shauna went to summer camp.Camp Shauna

Let’s talk about the time Shauna went to summer camp. Why would anyone in their right mind think it a good idea to put her in charge of a group of girls? Haven’t we learned that lesson before?

Since we are all experiencing a different way of living, we are going to take a look back to when Shauna was a camp counselor. We will explore the world of kid’s camp and everything there is to love about it.

Shauna has her own idea of what camp should be and it sounds like a dream. Don’t discount the power of camp food, and never touch anything laying on the camp dorm room floor.

We will also hear a full discourse on what it’s like to work at a firework’s stand in the hot Texas summer. Don’t worry, a guy with a mullet DID show up, and it did NOT disappoint. Please join us as we share the experience together.

The quarantine has caused hardship for us all – and Shauna has had to go FIND A JOB! We are going to navigate the up’s and downs of the rat race. Seventeen years of being a stay at home mom leaves Shauna with few qualifications, as sarcasm is not a special skill, apparently.

We will talk about some of the jobs Shauna has endeavored over the years, from a gas station attendant to almost working at Taco Mayo. We also talk about the jobs she didn’t get – because only felons are qualified for some jobs – it’s true!

We take a look back to when Shauna was actually qualified to hold gainful employment and reminisce about life as a Police Officer; Shauna shares a couple war stories too!

Shauna will leave no stone unturned as she walks through everyone’s pet peeves from those in all in the kingdom of social media.

Do you enjoy cat people, even the ones that let people eat food off of their plates? How about people who over-word posts? Are those people you want to hang out with? No?

We are going to tackle celebrities – well, not actually tackle them, though some kinda deserve it. But we are going to talk about some of the dumb things they put us through while we’re trapped inside our homes.

The Graduate

In this week’s broadcast we are knee deep in quarantine and taking a look back at times past. What year did you graduate? In this week’s broadcast we are knee deep in quarantine and taking a look back at times past. What year did you graduate? How different was your graduation than graduations now? Will there be a graduation this year?? If you have a High School senior, we empathize with you – but we forbid you from sharing your senior pic in support, how is that helpful?!…

We will enjoy a stroll down memory lane when Shauna discusses how it was back in her day (insert grumpy old man voice here). We talk about what prom looked like then, and what it should look like now. Why is promposals even a thing? Are we setting ourselves up for a big fat disappointment in the future? Yes.

We will also get real about what aging looks like when seeing your old classmates again; and giving Shauna’s graduating class of 1990 a heads up to ready themselves for the coming reunion!

But some things never change, we will discuss the three types of teenagers that exist – and these types have not changed over time. Perhaps you have a combination, or are your teens pure breads? Discuss.

Church Clap

In this episode we are going to take a look at some of the activities surrounding the Easter holiday, more specifically in the children’s ministry – because who doesn’t like leaving church with an entire tree of palm branches #PalmSunday. Welcome the World of Seriously Shauna! What a time to be alive, amen?! In the midst of the uncertainty of the times, it is a blessing to know we have the solace of the church. That being said (you knew there was a THAT coming), we are going to take the time, during out interim from traditional church service to maybe take a step back and reevaluate, pragmatically, of course, the way we conduct things at our local churches – in the hopes of implementing changes that will likely only benefit Shauna, still…

In this episode we are going to take a look at some of the activities surrounding the Easter holiday, more specifically in the children’s ministry – because who doesn’t like leaving church with an entire tree of palm branches #PalmSunday. We’re also going to take a look at some of the church name choices that actually exist in the world today and nobody has bothered to tell them it’s a terrible idea.

During the actual service (Big Church to Southern Baptists) we are going to evaluate the necessity of the meet and greet portion – specifically addressing the one guy who leaves his row to touch everyone…

Being in the choir is a dream to some, but the bitterness of being rejected as a choir member may perhaps have skewed Shauna’s judgment on her choir assessment, nevertheless, she presses on. From front-line over singers, to kid music being sung by kids, no stone is left unturned.

If you had concerns about women’s ministry, AWANA, of youth pastors, save your questions until the end of the program, as they may be covered in the show content!

As always, everything is in good fun, nothing will change as a result of these musings, but aren’t you glad you’re not the only one who feels this way…

In this episode, Shauna will go where apparently everyone has gone before, and left a terrible mess, apparently.

Bathrooms are a necessary evil, something I plan to ask God about when I’m taken to glory. But just because you’re used often doesn’t mean you have to be horrendous. Let’s talk about the things that bother us about the bathrooms in our lives.

I will tell you about some of my terrible experiences, both home and abroad. We will share the things we all believe about the dreaded public restroom. WHY ARE PEOPLE GROSS?!

Please note, if you do not heed the advice given in this podcast we will judge you, extensively.

Train Wreck Television

When the world around us shuts down, how do we cope? Most of us have been relegated to our homes under self-imposed quarantines, which leaves us with much time to fill.

So how are you powering through each day? What do you need to help decompress? What helps you relax? We are all doing the same thing – watch bad television!

To unwind, I personally like to watch two genres of television: Crime Documentaries and Reality television. Yes, watching a story about a mass murderer helps me unwind..don’t judge.

But let’s leave the Unabomber and his colleagues for another episode. Today on Seriously Shauna, we are going to discuss all things TLC. Yes, The Learning Channel is where I like to go to help me feel better about my life.

We will be discussing three of my most favorite train wrecks on television.

We will cover the basics of living and marrying as an American Gypsy, what it looks like to plan a wedding to a virtual stranger in ninety-days or less, and what in the world living with four Sister Wives looks like on a practical level

Buckle up, it’s going to be a bumpy ride…
