On this episode of the Understanding Catholicism Series, our presenter, James Seghers, touches upon four main points in the Creation and Fall of Man, beginning with an explanation of The Blessed Trinity, followed by God’s Creation of Angels and Humans, the Fall of Adam and Eve and the consequences, and the Promise Redeemer Jesus Christ.

Jimmy delves into the mystery and the three persons of the Holy Trinity, distinct but always one divine family of endless love. While God created all creatures, only humans and angels are endowed with intelligence and free will, and both humans and angels are called to love like God. God created man out of love and for love and to have an intimate relationship. The need to love and be loved is so profoundly embedded in intelligent beings that the failure to love does violence to their very natures. Jim further explains the definitions of love and commitment and their qualities and how, in relationship to God, love is expressed in obedience. God’s covenant with Adam is explained, as well as the dire consequences and psychology behind the fall of Adam and Eve. And lastly, how humanity is given new hope in Jesus, the Messiah, the new Adam, the anointed one, who, with his mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary, the new Eve, amend the disobedience in the garden.

This is the 2nd episode in the (20 Episode Series) of Understanding Catholicism.
