Lucia continues her study of faith in this week’s podcast by sharing you must have faith to please God.
She references Hebrews 11:6 in The Passion Translation which says, “And without faith living within us it would be impossible to please God. For we come to God in faith knowing that he is real and that he rewards the faith of those who give all their passion and strength into seeking him.”
And Hebrews 3:7-12 in the New Living Translation tells us it’s important to walk by faith. “That is why the Holy Spirit says, “Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts as Israel did when they rebelled, when they tested me in the wilderness. There your ancestors tested and tried my patience, even though they saw my miracles for forty years. So I was angry with them, and I said, ‘Their hearts always turn away from me. They refuse to do what I tell them.’ So in my anger I took an oath: ‘They will never enter my place of rest.’ Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters. Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God.”
A key statement in this verse is “Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving.” Paul is telling us that an unbelieving heart or a heart that is not full of faith is considered to be evil!!
If you want God’s Word to work for you, you must mix it with your faith. The Word of God can be preached; people can hear the Word; and it will not profit or produce for them because they don’t mix their faith with the Word of God.
Walking in faith causes you to live the victorious life!
