Today’s podcast features the testimony of Marilyn Quirk and is provided for you by Magnificat, A Ministry To Catholic Women.
We pray that today maybe a special day in your life as you experience the presence of Jesus Christ among us through the personal testimony of our special guest. Magnificat, taken from Luke: 1, is the great hymn of praise that Mary prayed while visiting her cousin, Elizabeth. The Magnificat Proclaims podcasts feature Catholic women who have shared their testimony at one of the many Magnificat Chapters hosting quarterly meals held around the world. We trust that these testimonies will help us to come to better understand that we are truly children of God, made in His image and likeness.
We are delighted to introduce you to our beloved Marilyn Quirk. While studying to become an Episcopal medical missionary in 1958, Marilyn converted to Catholicism. Devoted to Our Lady and attentive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, she has been involved in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal since 1970.
Marilyn is the founding Coordinator of Magnificat, served I this capacity for 31 years, and is now Coordinator Emeritus of its Central Service Team. Much like a spiritual mother to all of her Magnificat daughters, she is truly God’s gift sent to us for these exciting times in which we live. She was awarded the papal medal, Pro Ecclesia Et Pontifice, for outstanding service to the Catholic Church and has appeared on EWTN.
Striving to live a life of devoted service to God, her family and her church, she and her husband, Peter, are especially proud of their six children and thirteen grandchildren. Members of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher and Legatus, Marilyn and Peter have served their church parish in New Orleans as extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist.
We hope you enjoy her story of conversion, call, and commitment!
