My First Aid Kit

What are the must-haves in your natural first aid kit? Here are the things that we keep in ours.

Activated Charcoal

For acute use in food poisoning, intestinal illness, vomiting, diarrhea, ingestion of toxins, etc.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Keep a bottle of organic Apple Cider Vinegar with “the mother” on hand for digestive troubles, indigestion, food poisoning, sunburn, bug bites and more.

Aloe Vera

Amazing for burns and blisters and super soothing to the skin.

Essential Oils

There are so many to have with you and this is just the short list. Lavender, patchouli, lemon, tea tree, lemongrass, Thieves/clove, frankincense, copaiba, oregano, purification, & peppermint. So many uses for each and this is just the basic must-haves that you can grab here.

Homeopathic Remedies

Homeopathic remedies are another must have. Simple and easy to use. You can grab them here. These are just the basics to have on hand. Check out this podcast to learn all the awesomeness of homeopathy!

Epsom Salt

Good as a bath soak for sore muscles. Dissolved in water, it can also be a good soak to help remove splinters.

Everything Cream

This “everything cream” can be used on dry skin, cuts, bruises, rashes, and anything else healing ointment could be used on.

Thieves

Be sure to have on hand the Thieves Spray, Waterless Hand Purifier and of course the Thieves House Hold Cleaner.

Hydrogen Peroxide

Great for cleaning wounds, mouthwash, and as a stain remover just to name a few.

Witch Hazel

A must have on hand for use on cuts, scrapes, and in cosmetic uses. It makes a great skin toner and is good for the postpartum bottom too.

Baking Soda

A good remedy to keep on hand. For severe heartburn or urinary tract infections, 1/4 tsp can be taken internally to help alleviate quickly. It can also be made into a poultice and used on bites.

Coconut Oil

Great for just about everything. From skin salve to diaper creme, to makeup remover, to antifungal treatment, use coconut oil for everything.

Superglue or a Liquid Bandaids

On minor to moderate skin cuts (not puncture wounds) use superglue and butterfly bandages.

The Little Things

  • Strips of sterilized muslin cloth in plastic bags for wrapping wounds.
  • Cut off wool sleeves from old sweaters to cover bandages and hold ice packs
  • Assorted bandages, butterfly bandages, and gauze
  • Homemade ice pack- just freeze liquid dish soap or rubbing alcohol in a double-bagged, ziplock bag and use as an ice pack.

Simple Ways to Detox Daily

Drink lemon water

Warm to room temperature lemon water is the best, especially first thing in the morning. Add a drop of lemon vitality or some fresh squeezed organic lemon juice work well.

Sip on a Detox Tea

There are a variety of teas out there. Look for teas that contain dandelion root, ginger root, burdock, and licorice.

Add Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar has a multitude of benefits. It alkalizes the body, helps detox the liver and supports the metabolism. Good Girl Moonshine is one of my favorite ways to add it to my day.

Jump

Jumping is a great way to stimulate our lymphatic system. It increases circulation.

Eliminate

Elimination is one of the key ways that our detoxes every single day. Be sure to eat clean and add in your fiber. Get in your probiotics, digestive enzymes, and Digize essential oils. Consider trying a coffee enema.

Dry body brushing

This not only feels good but it also activates the lymphatic system, stimulates circulation and enhances the elimination of toxins through our largest organ- the skin!

Detox baths

This is a good thing to add to your weekly routine to help support and cleanse our body. Grab the recipe here. All you need is some sea salt or Epsom salt, baking soda, and essential oils. If you can’t do a bath, try a foot soak.

Make your home healthy

Get some plants in your home that act as natural air filters. Avoid using chemical cleaners. Throw out your plugins, candles and other items that scent our home and instead use a diffuser with essential oils (I recommend Young Living.) Get a reverse osmosis system or water distiller.

What simple steps are you ready to make to detox your life daily?

It doesn’t have to hard or complicated, just start making little changes to a healthier you!
