From Diagnosis to Deliverance: Testimony of Floredenis Brown

Floredenis Brown shares her powerful testimony of faith, motherhood, and triumph against the odds in this uplifting story. From Diagnosis to Deliverance: Testimony of Floredenis Brown

Principal of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary-St. Richard Catholic School

In this powerful and high-energy testimony, Floredenis Brown shares her journey of defying the “lies of the enemy” through radical faith. Born with sickle cell anemia and later diagnosed with lupus, Floredenis was told by doctors that higher education was unlikely and motherhood was impossible.

Today, she stands as a wife of 20 years, a mother of two “miracle” boys, and a decorated educational leader holding four degrees. Floredenis recounts her “falling in love” moment with Jesus at a Magnificat luncheon and how that relationship fueled her to navigate high-risk pregnancies, NICU scares, and professional shifts. This episode is a masterclass in replacing panic with prayer and standing on the promises of God when the world says “no.”

Watch the video presentation.

Key Takeaways

  • The “Lover of My Soul”: Floredenis describes the pivotal moment she moved from a “sacramental” faith to a personal, charismatic relationship with the Holy Spirit.
  • Defying Medical Reports: Hear the miraculous story of how she was healed of lupus and how her son—once labeled a “vegetable” by doctors—became a gifted student leader.
  • The Principle of Multiplication: How God turned a career in public education into a calling to lead and “clean house” in Catholic schools, bringing the Holy Spirit back to the forefront of the classroom.
  • Faith Over Fear: Practical encouragement on how to maintain peace during “911 moments,” including a chilling story about a school intruder drill and the peace that surpasses understanding.

Notable Quotes

“The devil said I couldn’t have it, but God had His way… I don’t care what diagnosis that doctor gave me. Doctor Jesus said I’m going to be a mommy.”

“I am going to be the Jesus freak of the century because that’s the biggest compliment you could ever give me—that I am in love with the lover of my soul.”

Magnificat Ministry Podcast: Testimony of Claire Gallagher

Explore the journey of Claire Gallagher, a consecrated virgin from New Orleans, and her path to following God's plan.Testimony of Claire Gallagher

Claire Gallagher is a consecrated virgin from the Archdiocese of New Orleans. Claire was born and raised in the New Orleans area in a devout Catholic family. She had many good role models, her own parents as well as, aunts and uncles. Like many little girls she had dreams of one day getting married, having a large family, and living in a home with a white picket fence. While attending college, she thought she found the perfect man, but she knew deep down it was not right.

Claire explains how her life took many unexpected turns and she received important life lessons that allowed her to listen more closely to God’s plan for her. She found that God uses everything, he led her through a process of ‘letting go’ enabling her to be open to a deeper relationship with him and the vocation to the consecrated life.

Her love for the youth and young adult ministry, teaching, and retreat ministry led to her involvement and years of experience nurturing the spiritual formation of others. She currently manages a project through the Loyola Institute for Ministry that provides spiritual enrichment for religious sisters and is the co-host of the podcast “Flourishing Sisterhood,” which highlights the unique stories of religious sisters in the south.

This testimony was given to the Marrero, Louisiana Chapter in August 2025. The recording is 44 minutes, 26seconds in length.

He shares a prayer by John Henry Neumann, “I am a link in a chain, a bond of connections between persons.”

Fr. Fredrick ‘Fritz’ shares the stories of his paternal and maternal grandparents and his own parents, how they passed on their deep faith and devotions, by attending Mass and praying the Rosary as a family. Jan Tate shares how God united her Catholic faith and 53-year marriage into a ministry that forms engaged couples and inspires families to holiness.Magnificat® Ministry Presents Magnificat® Proclaims, Episode 7 – Jan Tate

Magnificat® Ministry Presents Magnificat® Proclaims. In this episode, Jan shares how the Lord has enabled her to serve Him by combining her two great passions in life: her Catholic faith and her Sacramental call to Matrimony.

A native of New Orleans, Jan graduated with honors from Loyola University with a degree in Communications. She has been married to Lloyd Tate for 53 years. They have five children and 18 grandchildren.

Growing up in a loving Catholic home, Jan’s parents were role models, instigating Jan’s desire to emulate a life dedicated to faith and marriage. Jan praises the Lord for continually placing people and events in her path to ignite this passion for faith and marriage. She discusses how we must confront and “heal” negative patterns and beliefs and how human chords—living as part of the Body of Christ—are essential; we all need one another to make “God come alive” daily.

Jan is a trained spiritual director on the Archdiocese of New Orleans staff. She and her husband, who are authors of the In-Home Marriage Preparation manual used by dioceses and Catholic parishes, preach and hold couples’ retreats to prepare engaged couples for marriage in the Church.
