Why does discipleship conjure up such a beautiful sentiment for most of us, but discipline not so much?  If you’re like me, you might feel like discipline is about how you are not good enough, that something more is going to be required from you, and you already feel like you’re at your limit. By contrast, discipleship can make us think of sharing intimately with the Lord and participating in His mission.

In the book of Hebrews, we are told that the Lord disciplines us because we are His children.  Discipline is because we are deeply and dearly loved.  It’s how He aligns more closely with Himself and fine-tunes us to His voice.  Only when we are submitted to the Lord’s discipline are we ready to be commissioned for more intimate service.  Put another way, only when we follow the Lord’s footsteps closely are we prepared to lead safely.

When the archangel Gabriel appeared to Mary, she did not say “yes” because he did not ask her a question.  He told her what was going to happen.  She submitted to the Lord’s way.  The same is true of us.  The Lord does not ask our permission.  Loved ones are taken, we get ill, things don’t go as it seems they ought to, all without the Lord asking if that’s ok.  However, we are called to submit our mission to the Lord’s mission.  We submit, that is, we put our plan under (sub) His and leave it to Him to order things rightly according to His infinite wisdom and goodness.

Sometimes, stretching in charity or generosity will not feel very natural at all.  That does not mean we are being inauthentic.  The truth is that we have a concept of ourselves based on where we are and how we are feeling today.  Only the Lord knows who He made us to be and what He is fashioning us into.  He is the Potter.  We are the clay.

Let’s submit ourselves to discipline in our lives so that we may be aligned more closely to the Lord and get under the spout where the glory comes out!

May the Lord give you His peace!

5 Steps to Emotional Healing

Emotional release is something that can be very powerful and ultimately life-changing but getting started is where most people get stuck. It does not have to be as scary as we might think and can be done in 5 simple steps.

Two amazing books to help you dig deeper into emotional release and healing are Releasing Emotional Patterns with Essential Oils by Carolyn L. Mein, D.C, and Feeling Buried Alive Never Die by Karol Truman.

* Note: the only essential oils recommended for emotional release are Young Living Essential Oils due to quality standards. Grab your oils here.

Clearing Emotional Patterns

Identify

Step 1 is to identify the feeling or emotion. This brings that feeling or emotion into conscious awareness.

Understand

Step 2 is that once we have identified the emotion and thought pattern that was created. Understand it and where it comes from.

Learn

Step 3 is to learn from this emotion or feeling. Let’s look at the other side or the positive emotion, which is the positive expression of that emotion.

Clear

Step 4 is it clear that emotion. This is the way out, which is a statement or affirmation that provides a way for us to shift from the negative emotion or feeling to a positive emotion or feeling. Remember the deeper the emotion is the more times it can take to clear it. Think of each emotion or feeling like a hole. If you have been digging that hole for years it will take more than one shovel full of dirt to fill it back in.

Release

Step 5 is to release the emotion or feeling which no longer serves you. Place a drop of essential oil in your hand. Inhale the essential oil. Apply it to the alarm points or emotional points. The bottoms of the feel and ears are good places to use as a backup.

It is really that Simple!

It really can be as simple as:

  • I choose being (insert positive feeling/emotion)
  • I feel (insert feeling/positive emotion)
  • I AM (insert positive feeling/emotion)

Are you ready to let go of those emotions and feeling that no longer serve you? These emotions and feelings do not have to overtake your life. They can if you let them. Grab your oils and sit down in prayer and the Holy Spirit to help you release the feelings/emotions that no longer serve you and are holding you back from having the life that God has waiting for you.

As always, be grateful & have faith!

God Bless!

Sacred Mountain

This is an amazing blend of essential oils that create a feeling of security and protection. It contains ylang ylang, cedarwood, balsam fir, and spruce.

The conifer oils used in this blend have been used by the North American Indians for hundreds of years for protection. Why use it?

When D. Gary Young was asked what oil would he pick if he could only choose one he said Sacred Mountain because it could help the most people. The reason that it can be so helpful to so many is primarily because of how it can help us deal with emotions and increase our frequency.
