Lizbeth Dison has over thirty years experience in marketing and communications, across a wide range of vertical industries, including cable/broadband, mobile, publishing, visual and performing arts, and more.

Her resume includes positions with Disney/ABC Networks, Time Warner Cable, Comcast and Cox Communications. She is currently president and owner of Shiny, Inc., a boutique public relations company specializing in unique and niche clients.

Ms. Dison is also the publisher and editor of Our Town DeKalb, Northeast DeKalb’s premier monthly magazine serving Tucker, Smoke Rise, Northlake and Embry Hills. 

She is a twenty-year resident of the City of Tucker, and a member of The Rotary Club of Tucker and the Tucker Business Association. Additionally, Ms. Dison also proudly supports many volunteer and community organizations in the city.

More About Derrica Williams

Derrica Williams is the Chief Operating Officer for Concepts, Inc. in Decatur, Georgia. The company has several divisions that include commercial construction, property management, and sports marketing. Derrica oversees the management of these divisions. 

Derrica is the President of the DeKalb National Council of Negro Women. She is also a 2017 Leadership DeKalb graduate, and a founding member of the Stone Mountain Action Coalition.

In addition to this, Ms. Williams is a board member for the Junior League of DeKalb and a member of several communities and civic organizations in metropolitan Atlanta. 

 

 

Inspired by the legacy of NCNW founder, Mary McLeod Bethune, the DeKalb Section became a reality in January 1990 with 50 founding members.

Today the Section has a membership of more than two hundred men and women of all races. These members are actively involved in politics, health, economic development, elder care, youth education, and mentoring throughout DeKalb County. With its projects, the DeKalb Section seeks to fill community gaps that exist in our society, particularly in meeting the concerns of minority women.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, our nation is not only dealing with a public health crisis, but many Americans are experiencing an economic crisis.

Deborah Jackson, who is running for a US senate seat, talks about the kinds of things that will be necessary to get our economy back on its feet. 

As the former Mayor of Lithonia, Ms. Jackson talks about the qualities needed for women to be strong political leaders. We chat about women currently in politics at the state and national level, and talk about the changes they are making on the political scene.

Finally, she addresses voters who are leary about election process, and explains how their vote really can make a difference.
