15th Sunday of Ordinary Time-C –Bread of Life Bible Study
The question Jesus puts to the lawyer, “Who do you think was neighbor to the man?” Is the same question that is being asked of you and me. God’s love is so great that anyone who is in need is eligible for his help.
“There is a famine today that is raging across this great land of ours. There is a deep hunger and thirst for the healing Word of God … With humility, boldness, and energy, we must personally hear the Word, pray the Word, study the Word, proclaim the Word, and live the Word of the Lord Jesus Christ.” (from Introduction for The Bread of Life Bible Study)
Today’s podcast is based on the Bread of Life Catholic Bible Study and presented by the coauthor, Marie Finn. Please visit the website: www.StDismasGuild.org for more information and for supplemental materials.

Join with us as we come t Show Page Insights ogether in God’s presence and proclaim that the Almighty has done great things for you and me. Holy is His Name!

In the Catholic Church we believe in the real presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist. This worship service is called “The Mass,” and it is a celebration of Word and Sacrament. It is also an act of fellowship among all Catholic believers. Our faith is strengthened through fellowship with Christ and with all other believers.

As we prepare for Christmas and the 2nd coming of Christ we are told to repent and make way for the Lord. Repentance does not mean “I am sorry,” it means “Change”. And that means changing direction by looking away from sin and turning to our loving, forgiving God, and doing things His way not our way.
Are you ready for when Jesus comes again on the clouds of heaven? Are you looking up or down? Be on guard lest your spirits become bloated with indulgence and drunkenness and worldly cares. The great day will suddenly close in on you like a trap. The day I speak of will come upon all who dwell on the face of the earth

The followers of Christ are not distinguished by showy talents or acts. Reading the bible, praying in public, or following church rituals can be phony if the motive for doing them is to be noticed or honored.

Peter wanted Jesus to be king, but not the suffering servant prophesied in Isaiah 53. He was like many of us today, ready to receive the glory of following the Messiah, but not the persecution. The Christian life is not a paved road to wealth and ease, but often involves rejection, pain, loneliness, and sickness.
22nd Sunday of Ordinary Time – Bread of Life Bible Study
It is not the intellectual difficulty which keeps men from becoming Christians; it is the height of Christ’s moral demand. Only Jesus can give us true purpose in life, and the power of his Holy Spirit to work out that purpose against the constant opposition that comes from without and within.
