Meet Melanie Rigney

Melanie is an author of three great books, Sisterhood of Saints; Radical Saints and Menopause Moments. Our interview focused mainly on Menopause Moments, published by Twenty-Third Publications.  She also writes for Living Faith, Catholic Update and Viva Mercy.

Why this journal?

Aging and change are a part of life. Menopause is inevitable and yet often ignored. Instead of fighting it, look at it as a time of spiritual growth as we do other life challenges.

The journal is a tool to look at the changes in our bodies and offer them up in prayer and reflection. As I said in the episode, I laughed many times while reading the reflection Melanie wrote.

What’s inside the book?

39 reflections, scripture verses, and prayer prompts with room to write a few lines of your own. There is also a suggested action to take for the topic covered. All of this is on 2 facing pages!

Find out more about all of Melanie’s work on her website, Rejoice! Be Glad!

When you are struggling, remember that God is with you, as it says in Exodus 3:12, “I will be with you.”

Summer Reading for the Working WomanEpisode 90–Summer Reading for the Working Woman

Deanna Cauthen, the host of The Working Woman Radio Show, shares 10 of her favorite books to encourage summer reading for the working woman.

The nice thing about the summer is that most people usually take vacations during the summer, and this can be a great time to catch up on some reading that you may not have been able to do during the other months of the year.

The list that she shares is not in any particular order as far as preference is concerned.

So she encourages you to put your feet up, kick back, and take a little time to do some reading this summer.

Trim Healthy Mama

There is a learning curve to Trim Healthy Mama. It is not designed like most conventional diets as a 30 or 90-day plan. You are not instructed what to eat at every meal with portion sizes dictated to you. The plan encourages you to learn to put meals together that will suit your own needs, challenges, and food preferences. Since Trim Healthy Mama is geared as a lifelong plan, you learn as you go, but after a while, it becomes second nature for most people. For more information, Trim Healthy Mama.
