The Working Woman Radio Show invited tax attorney, Josie Harris into the studio to talk about how to be tax savvy.

During our conversation, Ms. Harris-Walton talks about the biggest mistake business owners make when they start a business.

She also gave a brief tutorial on the various types of business entities, and the advantages and disadvantages of each.

Finally, Josie explained why it’s so important for small business owners to seek the advice of an experienced tax professional to avoid problems before they arise.

More About Josie Harris-Walton

Josie Harris-Walton is a tax attorney and founding partner of The Walton Firm. She manages the law firm’s corporate and tax division.  In 2011, after attending law school at Samford University, Cumberland School of Law, Josie decided to enroll at DePaul University College of Law to obtain her master’s degree in taxation.  

In 2014, Josie became the owner and managing partner of Coleman & Walton, LLC, a boutique law firm dedicated to helping businesses with their business and tax issues, and in 2020 Josie decided to form The Walton Firm.

Josie serves as a board member of several non-profit organizations.   She is also a member of the Georgia Association of Black Women, the Coalition of 100 Black Women, and a Pro Bono attorney with the Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta. Josie is dedicated to her true passion of assisting and helping business owners understand their businesses and taxes
