A Saint and some Scripture
We are reading The Way of Perfection by St. Teresa of Avila with the LiveNotLukewarm community. The book is filled with wisdom, which is why she is a Doctor of the Church!
This struck me: “May our Lord assist me in everything that I shall do, that all things may be done according to His will, for such have always been my desires, though my actions are as imperfect as myself.”
And, thne we have the Letter of James, chapter 1, 19-22, though the entire letter is excellent.:
Know this, my dear brothers: everyone should be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath, for the wrath of a man does not accomplish the righteousness of God. Therefore, put away all filth and evil excess and humbly welcome the word that has been planted in you and is able to save your souls.Be doers of the word and not hearers only, deluding yourselves.”
Control the Tongue
Is it difficult to do? It is for me, how about you?
Invite God in more frequently, the more we ask for help the better off everyone will be. We can’t be a good example if we are not speaking with kindness.
