Spiritual Blindness
Spiritual blindness is mentioned in the Bible. In this episode, we discuss the ways we all suffer from spiritual blindness at times, we miss the little things and worse, sometimes we don’t see the obvious.

Scripture of the blind man – he was born blind and was at the gates of the Synagogue for so many years begging. Jesus took pity upon him and healed his eyes. This caused many problems among the Pharisees. They had to admit that Jesus was indeed the prophet and the Son of God – who He proclaimed to be, but instead, they found excuses.
Do we struggle to see the obvious because that may mean we must change? For those of us who follow Christ, we have an obligation. We must follow Him with all our hearts and not pick and choose.
t wasn’t enough that this man born blind, with no eyes – new eyes were created out of paste made by Jesus and yet the focus on the Pharisees was only that it was done on the Sabbath. The doctor’s of the law should have been so impressed that a man born blind could see – what a miracle!
Do we do this in our lives? Do we miss the miracle because of something that takes our focus away?
We have more fear of men and society than we have of God. We are afraid to stand up for what we believe, we stand still and listen to people who slander the Lord in profanity or sick jokes. How often I’ve had to change the television station because of inappropriate commercials – even while watching sports.
It not real – it’s okay – no, it isn’t okay.
When we fear God it shouldn’t be because we fear what He will do to us – God doesn’t condemn anyone to hell – the soul does it … when a soul is so against God it will not repent, it will not say to God I’m sorry – refuses to do that, even at death, they turn away from God when they see him after life. They can’t accept it or stand it. They turn away from all eternity.
The Pharisees were of the verge of doing this. They were so adamant that Jesus was not the Son of God – they had no knowledge of Jesus. They believed the Messiah would be a military leader who would deliver them from Rome and give them, thPharisee’ses power.
Even faced with the fact of a blind man who now could see they Pharisees did not want to see anyone who was healed because it would require them to change their opinion. The blind man stood up to them, and challenged them. “God does listen to men who are devout and does His will.”
This blind man knew more than the Pharisees—he experienced God’s love in a personal way through the healing power of Jesus. He was blind for so many years and he was never healed. He didn’t know who Jesus was before this encounter but he knelt down and believed.
Jesus came into the world so that those without sight may seen – and those with sight were blind to Him. People today are the same we are either for Him or against Him. We either believe that Jesus came as God/Man – suffered, died and rose from the dead on His own – we either believe it or it is mocked.
We either believe Jesus is in our midst – He will always be with us or we despair. We must believe and hold tight. We must ask ourselves are we like the Pharisees who are afraid to stand up for Jesus. There are many who half believe and that makes for confusion and people who are lukewarm in their faith.
This is a time with so many horrible things happening in our world that we must rely upon the Lord to sustain us with the power of His love.
We can lose our faith by asking the wrong people the right questions. They don’t know the answer but we believe them instead of going to the Scriptures and a spiritual counsel such as a pastor.
How do your eyes come to be open? You know what is right and stick to what is right. Righteousness will bring you peace, love and joy. We are called for holiness. We are called to follow the Lord to go to church.
This miracle shows us how much the Lord loves us in a personal way. He took a direct interest in this man, so much so that He gave him a wonderful gift of his eyesight. He was blind but now could see, and we should pray that He allows us to see the love He has for us!
We should pray that the Lord can give us a deep realization of His love for us – to instill His love into your heart! God thought of us before time began, He knew you and loved you and He knew when you would come to be. Understanding this truth—we can sustain all things. If we know that one truth everything else can fall into place. If you are loved by Jesus, what else matters? Everything in life will come to an end… power of man will end … only the love of God sustains all time.
